Egypt court dismisses criminal charges against Mubarak in killing of 2011 protesters

An Egyptian court has dismissed criminal charges against former president Hosni Mubarak in connection with the killing of protesters in the 2011 uprising that ended his nearly three-decade reign. On Saturday, Mubarak, 86, was also acquitted of corruption charges that he faced along with his sons Alaa and Gamal. Mubarak was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 2012, but the verdict was overturned on appeal the following year.

Saturday's verdict concludes his retrial along with his two sons, his security chief and six top security commanders, who were all acquitted. Also on trial was businessman Hussein Salem, a longtime Mubarak friend tried in absentia. He too was acquitted. Nearly 900 protesters were killed in the 18-day uprising that ended when Mubarak stepped down, handing over power to the military. The trial, however, was concerned only with the killing of 239 protesters, whose names were cited in the charges sheet.

Presiding judge Mahmoud al-Rashidi made clear that the dismissal of the charges did not absolve Mubarak of the "corruption" and "weakness" of the latter years of his 29-year rule and praised the January 2011 uprising, saying that its goals — freedom, bread and social justice — were justified.

Germany seizes record 2.9 tonnes of crystal meth chemicals

BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany has seized chemicals that could make 184 million euros (S$296 million) worth of crystal meth and arrested 15 people in a breakthrough drug bust involving the Czech Republic, police said on Thursday.

The record haul of 2.9 tonnes of chlorephedrine, enough to make 2.3 tonnes of crystal meth, contrasted with 80 kilograms of the drug seized in Germany last year and reflected mounting worries about drug trafficking from the nearby Czech Republic.

Police in the two countries arrested 15 people in areas close to their border in early November, netting the suspected ringleader, a 32-year old pharmaceuticals merchant from the east German city of Leipzig.

A months-long investigation found that chlorephedrine was being transported to the Czech Republic for manufacture in batches of 10-20 kilograms before being sent back to Germany for sale.

The Marketing Mistake You Can’t Afford to Make in 2015

The Marketing Mistake You Can’t Afford to Make in 2015
Marketing has changed drastically over the past 15 years. It used to be that as long as you were clear on the traditional 4 P’s (product, place, price, promotion) of marketing, and executed a smart strategy incorporating all of them, your campaign had a good chance of being successful. These days, however, that’s just not enough.

With improved technology, there’s less difference in products of the same category. The internet has made place almost irrelevant (unless you’re a storefront, but even then, most storefronts have an online presence). Price is no longer a strong enough reason for consumers to choose one product or service over another. And promotion? Well… Most people now skip over traditional advertising, so you’ve got to get really creative with your marketing.

Don't do these 3 things to your man in public

Don't do these 3 things to your man in public
Here are three things you should never do to your mate in public (or private):
1. Embarrass. When you put his business out on the street like that, you show that he can’t trust you. Did the world really need to know that he still leaves the toilet seat up? Or that he failed at something that was really important to him? When you embarrass him in public, it only shows your insecurities. You shouldn’t have to embarrass your mate to feel better about yourself.

2. Ignore. A man needs to know that his woman’s got his back. Loyalty is really important to men. So when you ignore him in public because you’re trying to prove your point, you’re doing more damage to your relationship than you realize.
To him you’re being disloyal and letting him know just how little you respect him. To the rest of the world, you’re letting them in on issues that should really just stay between the two of you.
