Poor customer service killing Ghana’s tourism – Minister

Poor customer service at some hospitality facilities in the country accounts for the low patronage of the sector by tourists, sector Minister Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare has said.

She said managers of hospitality facilities must improve on their customer service systems to change the trend.

Agyare told a gathering at the official launch of the Royal Senchi Hotel in the Eastern region that the hospitality industry could suffer much losses if customer service is not taken seriously by stakeholders in the sector.

“I’m very passionate about service delivery becauswe I have personaly experience slow piece services in some of our leading hospitality facilities. To be brutally frank, sometimes [it’s] the slow service alone that irritates our customers to the point that they want to leave.

“Some tourism attractions are beautiful, but the services are poor in such a way that you will not want to come again,” Agyare said.
