A heavily pregnant woman was caught having sex with her husband as she waited to have her baby induced.

A hospital cleaner heard moans coming from the couple’s private room at St. Michael's Hospital, Bristol, southwestern England, reports The Sun.

The cleaner complained to her bosses but she was told the horny couple had not broken any hospital rules.

"Other patients on the unit heard the commotion and were upset," a hospital source told The Sun.

"She was amazed to be told it was OK. The hospital's advice appears to be just to put a sign up."

Having sex before labor has long been advocated as a way of speeding up birth.

The hospital said they had received no complaints about the incident.
