Buem MP builds ‘pure water’ factory in 'old' cemetery
The construction of a sachet water factory at an old cemetery, by Buem MP, Daniel Ashiamah has left residents there fuming.
According to residents of Buem old Baika, a traditional community in the Jasikan district of the Volta Region, the location of the borehole for the factory used to be an old cemetery for accident victims and people who suffered mysterious deaths.
The site was later used as a toilet facility for the EP Basic Schools and then turned into a refuse dump.

A female student of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has died after she was stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend.

CRIME:Robbers murder Vodafone staff at Sakumono
Ebo Panford Quainoo, a 30-year-old Marketing Executive of Vodafone Ghana, was yesterday killed by two armed robbers who raided his three-bedroom apartment at Sakumono, near Tema.
The deceased, according to information, was sleeping in his bedroom when the two armed robbers wielding a pump action gun entered the house. Neighbors of the Vodafone Marketing Officer who was shot dead in his home at Sakumono, a suburb of Accra say, the assailants wanted some money the deceased had made from the sale of his BMW vehicle.
They believe one of the deceased’s business partners gave the robbers a tip off.

Most Rev. Professor Emmanuel Asante, chairman of the National Peace Council, has posited that his outfit is deeply worried about the entrenched positions taken by some political parties on how to sanitize the electoral process in the country.
The National Peace Council on Tuesday held a forum in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital, to collate views from all political parties, civil society organisations and individuals on how to ensure trouble-free polls next year.
