Anas has shed light on Ghana’s democracy – Pratt

The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper Kwesi Pratt Junior has commended investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas for his investigative piece that has uncovered massive corruption in Ghana’s judiciary.

According to him, regardless of the ethical and professional concerns people are raising over the manner in which Anas procured the video evidence against the judges, one must admit that he has done greater good to the democratic journey of the country.

“As a result of this Anas enterprise, all of us in the public are getting educated and it is enriching the consciousness of our people.

“No matter what anybody says about Anas and Tiger eye, Anas has made a very positive contribution to our understanding of corruption, the fight against corruption and the institutional measures we need to take in order to fight corruption.

“No matter what anybody says about Anas and his team, they are out there risking in the public domain their lives and maybe their profession to shed light on the dark corners of our society; and I’m happy,” Pratt stated on Accra-based Radio Gold Saturday.

Already 22 judges and magistrates who were implicated in the corruption expose’ have been suspended by the Judicial Council. The High court judges who were also caught on camera taking bribes to decide on cases before them are also being probed.

The chief justice has promised no judge found guilty will be spared.
