Nollywood actor turned politician Desmond Elliot has celebrated a year in office as a lawmaker.
The actor crossed the first hurdle on his journey to become a representative for Surulere constituency on the ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC). He was later sworn into office as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly on the platform of the ruling party, a position he called a privilege and promises never to take for granted.
Elliot donned a buba and sokoto and the iconic ‘Abeti Aja’ cap as he posed with several traditional and political personalities as part of the celebration.
He wrote on his Instagram: “One year as a lawmaker... Another great opportunity to say 'Thank you Lord' for this great opportunity to serve in this great state Lagos, these wonderful people of the state and good people of Surulere. I will never take it for granted, for this is a Privilege and I say Thank you lord over and over again. It hasn't been easy but IT IS WELL.”
