T’di transport operators demonstrate over unapproved loading points

Scores of passengers in Takoradi in the Western region have been left stranded Monday morning following the decision by transport operators in the area not to work today.

The drivers claim the number of illegal loading points in the city is affecting their business.

They are accusing city authorities of being indifferent towards their concerns. Some of the irate drivers told Starr News’ Abraham Ohene Gyan that several attempts to demonstrate over the problem in the past had been thwarted by the city authorities.

The development has caused a gridlock in the town as only few vehicles are seen shuttling the many passengers who are reporting for duty.

The irate drivers have threatened to also start loading at the unapproved areas if nothing is done about the situation.
