The stadium was funded with a Chinese grant of US$33 million and constructed by the China Jiangxi Corporation for International Economic and Technical Cooperation.
Ghana’s U20 team will play China’s U-19 side in the main stadium opener with Adisadel playing Mfantsipim and Augustine’s playing Mfantsipim in basketball.
There will also be other activities, including music and dance line-up as part of activities marking the opening of the ultra-modern facility.
