Operation 'Shoot And Kill' Fulani Cows – Eastern Police Commander Declares

The issue of Fulani herdsmen might not end anytime soon after an operation has been launched in the Eastern region to ‘shoot and kill stubborn’ cows.

The operation was propelled after police gathered information that the Fulanis are heading to the Eastern Region from Agogo in the Ashanti Region.

Dubbed operation “Cow Leg” the Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Awuntubuge Awuni noted that the operation is meant to drive out Fulanis who are suspected to be causing mayhem in the region.
“We have to prevent the Fulanis and protect the indigenes,” he said in an interview on NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie'.

However, Eastern Regional police commander, DCOP Awuntubuge Awuni has asked police personnel to be professional when handling the migrants.

"I will not take any casualty on behalf of the security personnel who are going there. If there should be a casualty, it must be them. I don’t want you to come with one of you missing, you are not by this directed to fire indiscriminately, but my instruction is that you have every right to defend yourself when you come under attack. And my instruction is that; gun down the cows who will be directed to you," he said.
