An accident involving a military van and a Kia Rhino pickup on Sunday night at Firestone near Madina, resulted in the death of one person with three other persons being injured.
The dead has been identified as Miss Sarah Peprah, an occupant of the Military vehicle.
Her body has since been deposited at the Police Morgue for autopsy in Accra, whilst investigations continue.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Emmanuel Adu Buahen, the Madina Divisional Commander of MTTD, who confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the two vehicles, a military pickup and a KIA Rhino pickup number GX 2156-14 were both heading towards Madina.
On reaching Firestone, the KIA Rhino pickup which was moving at top speed hit the side of the military pickup and somersaulted and fell on the pavement injuring the occupants of the military vehicle.
He said the Madina MTTU Police took the victims to the Police hospital around 11.55pm where Miss Sarah Peprah was pronounced dead, while the other three occupants were treated and discharged.
DSP Adu Boahen said the accident docket would be referred to the Attorney General's office for advice.
