Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr., has called both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to analyze issues about the voters' register holistically and critically without recourse to emotional outbursts.
According to him, issues bordering on the credibility of the voters' register should not be treated as a party affair.
Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", the seasoned journalist noted that it should not be put out as if issues with the country's voter register have never come up before, pointing out that concerns raised by the NPP regarding the register are not anything new in the annals of Ghana's history since there have been precedents.
To Kweku Baako, electoral lapses in the nation are a "matter that is serious enough to warrant a national approach.”
He therefore called on the Electoral Commission to take a second look at the register and the voting procedures because if ignored, it may have a global impact.
“When it comes to the voters’ register, it has nothing to do with the NPP/NDC. They may clash. They may have different opinions…This has implication for all of us as a nation and not just the two political parties or the Electoral Commission,” he added.
