A Communications Team member of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Charles Owusu has said Sam George’s comment on the CPP’s General Secretary, Ivor Greenstreet was unfortunate and malicious.
According to him, the NDC’s communication team member, Sam George is rather deformed and disabled than Ivor Greenstreet.
“That boy [Sam George] don’t respect. He is more disabled than a disable person. He should carefully compare his picture to Ivor Greenstreet and see who the real disable person is,” he noted on Adom FM
Sam George's ‘Elevation’ gaffe
Sam George, a communication member of the NDC has been bombarded for his below the belt comment on Ivor Greenstreet last Saturday which many have described as an attack on the disability fraternity.
Moments after Ivor Greenstreet passed a damning judgment on President Mahama’s leadership during the NDC National Delegates Congress in Kumasi, Sam George posted on Facebook: “Ivor Greenstreet apparently needs some elevation to see the Better Ghana.”
His post attracted an avalanche of criticism on social media.
The Ghana Federation of the Disabled and the Convention People’s Party (CPP), who felt his comment was insensitive, demanded an apology from Sam George which he unpleasantly did.
However, speaking on Adom FM, Monday, a Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover also described Sam George as a deity in the NDC whose duty is to insult respected persons in society.
“I heard Sam George say his political God father is late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills. I think the late president will be sorrowful in his grave today. Prof Mills will never teach someone to be disrespectful in society,” Titus Glover stated.
