Five lives have been lost through a motor accident on the Accra-Tema Motorway on Christmas Day.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened on Thursday morning and involved a Hyundai vehicle heading towards Aflao in the Volta region.
“I was coming from Accra, heading towards Tema and saw the Hyundai vehicle busting its tyre. I am sure he applied brakes and the car just turned on its left side and ended up at the other side of the road,” an eyewitness told Starr News’ Kweku Obeng Adjei.
“Two people died on the spot. When we got closer we realised that others were just hanging from behind with the windscreen broken, and there were three other people lying on the side of the road close to the gutter.”
StarrFMonline.com understands that among those who survived include three children and four adults while others receive treatment at the Tema General Hospital.
