Police in Farmingdale, New York are investigating after a person possibly intentionally committed suicide by jumping in front of a Long Island Rail Road train after beheading a woman.
Nassau County Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide in Farmingdale where a woman was beheaded and left dead in the street Tuesday night, according to multiple reports.
The man suspected of killing her was struck and killed by a Long Island Rail Road train around 8:15 p.m., near where the woman was found in front of 130 Secatogue Avenue, Eyewitness News reported.
The woman, whose severed head was reportedly discovered in the street with her body nearby, was in her 60s and the man hit by the train, believed to be the woman’s son, was in his 30s, NBC 4 New York reported.
Nassau Police will only confirm at the moment that a person is dead on the train tracks and that a crime scene unit is investigating an incident on Secatogue Avenue.
LIRR service on the Ronkonkoma Branch is currently suspended in both directions.
