Lady Stuck in Chimney Trying to Enter Man's Home

It's a classic tale of boy-meets-girl, girl-tries-to-break-into-boy's-house-through-the-chimney. Firefighters came to the aid of Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa, 28, after she became lodged in the flue at the Thousand Oaks, Calif., home of a man she said she met online.

Rescue workers used jackhammers and dish soap to free a lovesick woman who got stuck in the chimney of the Thousand Oaks, Calif., home of a man she dated online.
Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa, 28, was finally freed Monday morning after being trapped in the chimney for two hours. Capt. Renee Ferguson of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said Nunez-Figueroa was transported to a hospital then arrested for illegally gaining entry into the man’s home.

The man, whom Capt. Ferguson would only identify as “Lawrence,” was not home when Nunez-Figueroa made her unannounced visit. Lawrence told police he and Nunez-Figueroa met online and dated a few times.

“She seemed totally cool until the first flag was her actually being on my roof two weeks ago,” Lawrence told KTLA.

Lawrence said he called the cops but she was gone by the time they arrived.

Lawrence had advice for others who date online: “Before you have somebody come in your house really check them out,” he said. “Really give it some time before you let somebody in, because they might want to stay.”
