When life gets rough, it can often feel as if you can’t take anymore. It is a lonely world when you feel this way. It can be a struggle to look at the positive things. If it is a tough time for you right now, here are some things to remember:
1.Things are never as bad as they seem
A problem can seem like the biggest thing in the world when you can’t see a way out of it. Try to clear your mind and think of a solution, if its a big problem, take small steps towards a solution. Can you remember something you were worried about a year ago? probably not, though at the time it took over your mind and distressed you, yet you found a way out. Do it again.
2.There is always someone worse off
We all have something to be grateful for, even things that seem insignificant at the time. It is worth remembering, no matter how bad it gets, there is always someone in the world, who has it worse than you and would love to trade places. Count your blessings.
3.If you are at rock bottom , the only way is up
When you feel like you have hit rock bottom, the only way left to go is straight back up. If anything knocks you down, look it straight in the face, keep getting back up, don’t let anything stop you, face your fears and go for it.
4.Look at the bigger picture
Joy can be found in the smallest of places, look around you at the amazing things out there that people take for granted every day. Take a moment to stop, breathe and enjoy your surroundings and small moments, it will lift you and fill you with strength.
5.People can help
If you feel things are so rough, you can’t deal with it on your own, there are people and organisations out there that will help you. Lean on friends and family, the people who love you for who you are. Seek help, and take advantage of that help.
6.Count your blessings and remember the good times
Sit down and think, write a list if you have to, of all the good times you have ever experienced. Think positive, there will be things on the list that you will have forgotten all about until you changed your perspective, they will make you smile all over again.
7.Life is short
Life is too short. When you are an elderly person , looking back on your life, the problems you have now will seem tiny. Dust yourself off, get back up and don’t have any regrets! change your life now, so you can look back and think, that was fun!
8.Learn from mistakes
Working out what went wrong and why, is a good way to learn from your mistakes. If its something you have the power to change. You can make sure it doesn’t happen again by changing yourself and working on self development, this will open up learning opportunities. Try to understand yourself, why are you scared, upset or angry? what makes you truly happy, are your own fears and feelings holding you back? learn who you are, improve the way you look at things and go for it.
9.Avoid comparing yourself to anyone
Every one is different, you cannot compare yourself to anyone else, everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, its what makes you who you are. You are you, and there are people out there who would love to have some of your attributes/skills/talents. Learn what makes you happy, things you are passionate about, it will drive you. If you don’t know what they are, then keep looking. Concentrate on making yourself the best you, you can be. what are you good at? Admire people and Don’t allow anyone to put you down.
10.All things pass
Nothing lasts forever, so no matter how bad it seems right now, things are changing every day. Remember this, and keep looking forward to the good times, when they come, you will appreciate them even more. Don’t take things for granted. Accept things for what they are. Try to see a positive in every situation, however small it may be, you will look at life in a different way and become someone people will admire.
The only person who can make something out of your life is you. Remember these 10 steps. Take a deep breath, and hold your head high and remember tomorrow is a new day.
